Ken McCarthy has been the Varsity Boy's Lacrosse Coach at Somers High School in Somers, Connecticut for 23 years.

In high school, McCarthy played in Somers for legendary Hall of Fame Coach, Lee Pinney.  He then played at Springfield College before playing club lacrosse for many years.  He began his coaching career in South Hadley, Massachusetts, before returning to Somers in 1993.

During his coaching tenure, McCarthy's teams have won 10 league championships and 3 state championships.  Most recently, his team was the 2012 Class S Runner-up.  McCarthy celebrated his 300th win as a Varsity Coach on May 21, 2012.

In addition to McCarthy's team's success, he has been the past recipient of multiple Coach of the Year Awards and currently serves as a member of the High School All-American Selection Committee.

2016 is McCarthy's 9th year with Rip-It.  During the summer, he coaches the Summer ELITE Youth Team.
